TDI Technical Diver

The TDI Technical Diver course is the gateway to the world of technical diving. You will learn to plan and execute dives using back-mounted double cylinders and a single decompression gas, manage complex dive profiles, and apply advanced gas switching techniques. The program covers the physics and physiology of technical diving, equipment configuration, emergency procedures, and systematic dive planning using TDI's proven frameworks. Upon completion you are certified to conduct technical dives to 45 meters using up to one decompression gas.

  • Prerequisites: TDI Advanced Nitrox and Decompression Procedures, or equivalent agency certification
  • Minimum age: 18 years
  • Maximum depth: 45 m (150 ft)
  • Includes: Back-mounted doubles, single deco gas, full dive planning

TDI Decompression Procedures

The TDI Decompression Procedures course teaches you to plan and execute dives that intentionally exceed no-decompression limits using a single decompression gas. You will master decompression theory, dive table and computer-based planning, gas switching protocols, and emergency management for decompression obligation situations. This course is frequently taken alongside TDI Advanced Nitrox as a combined program, providing a complete entry point into technical decompression diving.

  • Prerequisites: TDI Advanced Nitrox (may be taken concurrently), minimum 100 logged dives
  • Minimum age: 18 years
  • Maximum depth: 45 m (150 ft)
  • Includes: Decompression theory, gas planning, single deco gas
